I used quick cast since I started playing the game cause it was set like that by default. Guess thats why I started playing Meepo and Tinker naturally.

Yeah quickcast response is too fast. I use quickcast on all the spells and items except for the tp cause its easier to just double click when using tp instead of dragging the cursor to base. You will find it very important if you use heroes like tinker, meepo, earthspirit.

because its faster and less actions means less things to fuck up

if you need to regular cast to see an aoe indicator you can also set a hotkey for that (for me it's alt+hotkey), the inability to double tap is solvable by turning on alt to self cast, and not having a regular cast key.

e.g. for NP teleport I have W for quickcast, no regular cast, so alt+W teleports home.

@angdrognyous, When playing invoker on quick cast, apart from clicking the SS on invo's potrait, is there any other way to cast cataclysm?

Tinker 6-slotted is too much for me without quickcast, but I dont use it.

Yes but honestly for aoe and weird spells like wall and pango swash or void q it's better to standard cast it. But I'm too lazy

heroes like void or mars would be unplayable for me on quick cast. but i use it on tiny for ava toss combo and i think on a few other heroes like ember for fire remnant and ta traps iirc.

if ure not used to quickcast u will have no idea whats going on. Either way what you use its up to you. If you can use it on all heroes normal use it. Just dont forget to press S to stop the ability mid way.

@goku turn on the setting in advanced hotkeys "smart double tap" results in alt+hotkey self casting.

if you use alt+hotkey for regular cast this won't work because it'll just regular cast instead, unless you also have "double tap ability to self cast", where you just double tap like you would normally, just while also holding alt.

is it the default setting anyway? i remember playin dota 1 there quickcast was not the default, hence im not using it until now

They’ve refined quickcast over the years, such as options cast on keypress-up up rather than keypress-down, smart double-tap, etc. I find it hard to go back to regular cast now

Once you get used to quickcast it's so easy and convenient.
