^Quite accurate actually. But since most probably you wouldn't get reliable teammates. TA is a good pick since she's somewhat not so team dependent in pubs.

get wand, treads, force, rod of atos, then maybe pike if they have high dps melee heroes or something. then i usually go for hex or shiva, maybe moonshard if you're rekking.
^^^^^^^ yes od is pretty op, but he doesnt have high phy. Damage. I reco. Pick heroes that can push fast. Like invoker ta, becuase ta can kill and push fast Also for invoker.
sven, wk, sb, troll, ck, cm...those are hero i play most to climb from 2,1 to 3,2.
invoker is a good choice if ur good enough. (i never play this hero though, but when my team pick invoker, i always win)
dont hesitate to try new build...
sometimes i play support on ck, it works many times.
just suite ur team hero pool, communicate earlier on picking phase...
and the most important thing is, NEVER BLAME ur teammates,
remember...u r at the same page-same rank...just behave, be the positive player,
compliment any accomplished gank u n ur team made.
if u want to give ideas to ur team, using polite sentences like "i think its better to......because.....", it works dude, u'll get respect from it and ur team will happy to cooperate.

Support, seriously, this is the most underrated role, when u play supp lead your teammates like asking them to stick and gank, when you have a "proper team" and try have 4 cores and 1 supp or 5 cores, you would have a very high chance of winning
