By "currently" you mean it will be available in the future (not so far), or it is not available now and noone knows if it will ever be?
Also i want to hear your thoughts about this and is there other peoples who want and support it.
The API doesn't report when players bought each item, it only tells you the stats from each player at the vry end of the game... The only way (as far as i know) to find that out would be checking every single match replay, which is just not a viable option.
Well if it is possible for DotA and it is done in playdota.com then it shouldnt be so hard to do i guess. Just go in playdota.com and check the "Replay" section. put your mouse over some hero and you will find what i mean. I think it will be really usefull to understand how the game was going without watch the whole replay carefull AND it will be helpfull because you can see the skill build of the player without trying to follow everything he do in a replay to not miss which skill he is leveling up on that level.
Playdota uses Warcraft 3 replay files, which are not only completely different, but have been around for much longer... There are not many good replay analysis tools for dota 2 yet (and none that tracks items afaik), and I've yet to get it to work without bugs, not to mention dota2 replay files are about 80mb each... So yeah, i wouldn't say "it's not hard to do".
Ok im not really awear with this things so you are probably right, it was just an example of what im talking about. If it is not possible to be done atm at least i hope it will be done when it is possible.

What you guys think about a mouseover that shows in wich minute which skill was leveled up and wich item was bought. It will goes like that: you put your mouse on the hero icone when you look at the stats of some match and it shows you a list on wich you can see the item and the skill build of the said player in a progresion a.k.a. one after another.
What you guys think about this?
