You can be on the winning team and still take a loss for the match. This happens when you are flagged as abandoning the game.
Ok my computer pulled the ol' automatically restart on me with the tiny notification that you can't see if fullscreen. I wasn't over the 5 mins, but I'm sure that's why.
Also any opinion on why the actual d2 client would record a Loss when I never left a game and it shows as a W on here? Just expected glitches with game?
Thanks for the response
We don't have an authoritative source on whether a player won or lost a match. Valve doesn't currently share that data. Our processing system makes a series of educated guesses (which is very accurate, more than 99%) to determine if a match had anyone abandon, and if so, should the game count and who should get a win or a loss. The result is that your W-L may differ slightly between in-game and DOTABUFF. We're always looking to improve this but there is room for a small margin of error.
I was more questioning a valve decision that was incorrect, I understand the db method, and possible idiosyncrasies
The in-game win / loss on "recent games" is bugged.
It's correct under your "heroes performance" tho.

I'm just confused for a game or two it shows a loss when if you click on match details it shows myself on the winning side. Are others having this issue?
Heres the most recent game it happened to me, has happened earlier but don't want to go look for.

Also do results stay static, or is there some sort of later validation check to avoid these errors.
Thanks
