VALVe is least known for fails or disappointing* (unless you count Ricochet) (*HL2EP3 must be purr-fect before release). I bet you miss DotA Matchmaking and Rating. I understand your (groundless) frustration, I also tend to bite the hand that feeds me.
Gaben, in a recent interview stated that their current system is not good enough to release, and they stopped dotabuff showing it for the same reason. He also said once they are happy with it, they plan on having the ability to see your own ranking available.
Using the acronym "ELO" just means you come from LoL, not DotA. Go back there if you are going to complain.
there is allready mmr rank on dota2 where you can see whats your rank, but valve hide that like year and half ago.

not really. i know elo from dota1 bots. Its a rating/ranking system that can work in every competitive game like dota1.

elo system is based on 1v1 game its purely retarded to use it for games like dota (5v5 )
Actually Elo is also quite usable for team games for ranking individual players, you just need a lot of games to get anywhere near accurate. Read this for a perfect explanation (ignore the fact it's based in LoL):

And don't be fooled that Valve uses anything but a pure Elo system to rate players, maybe with some additional limits/penalties based on player rating deviation compared to the average game rating.
how can u rate single players in team game ?
what if i play solo mid im always higest level / with alot of farm early game and alot alot of kills
while on other hand my friend plays hard support he spends all of his gold for wards sentries dusts tp scroll and consumables to keep his carry safe and happy in lane and having no levels items golds and kills
there is no way to rate 2 of this kind players (me and my support friend)
no matter how many games we play outcome will still be the same
he dies alot by sacrificing himself in order to his team mates to get gold/exp/etc
and im complete oposite to that
every one has elo allrdy. i know i got atm between 4100-4200 elo. got a valve dev in my friendlist when he log in he can check it, not sure valve is gone use that later in dota but its there allrdy. only valve staff can tell u how much u got
