i believe you get into very high mm based on your total games, aswell as your wins.
altho i may be wrong
i got in there from playing with my friends and winning alot of games.
but in all honesty, its no different from high mmr, you still get noobs
Watch professionals at joindota.com
Find good threads at playdota.com Game Strategy/Balance Debates/Hero Guides section
Analyze your own games by watching your replays. Try to find mistakes (was your pick good, was your skill and item build good, was your decisions good, ...)
Play a lot.
Try to join a team or just play with friends to improve your cooperative skills.
If you have a new idea (for example a fast jungling strategy) try and practise it in private lobby.
I cant watch joindota, as if I hear tobi say "guyro" copter one more time I might flip my desk. :P
But yeah I guess I just need to find a team to play with and trade replays with now.
You guys can't get something, there aren't many smart people on this planet, so that guys aren't NOOBS, they are just brainless people, and they are bad in dota becouse of that, dota takes a little bit of intelegence to play. Actually replying to spoon here.
Find players who are better than you and match make with them. You see someone do really good add them and play with them.
dumb question... made it into very ´high pool in 50 games on this acc...
u have to win obv...
How do you consider yourself above average when your statistics show otherwise?!?
so many 2 in your KDAs
add me!! i usually play a good carry just look at my stats. I'd appreciate it if ya'll add me! I play on us east and west
@Dom.G6 dont come bullshitting about KDA, it doesn't matter.
U got 4.22 KDA on QOP while I got 2.92, does this mean u are better? I think not.
@OP Watch tournament replays of the role/hero u want to learn, critique their play, it helps improve more than non-stop matchmaking
how can i improve by non-stop mm-ing when i get qued with a guy in my team who is lvl 2 (with 4 wins) and the opponent team has the lowest lvl of 30
Those levels are just to keep track of how many guaranteed item drops you get. They have nothing to do with skill or MMR, and are only somewhat related to games played.
You should try to play with good players like Xerm and learn from them. When you are alone, try the solo matchmaking que. Pick a hero you want to work on and don't worry about anything but playing that hero well.
first, dont take advice from random people on dotabuff and never visit playdota, never. Play 1000 games doing your best to win and you'll become better. gl.
I started playing dota 1 month after TI2, had never played dota before that. After fuck knows how many hours of dota i reached very high MM solo Que. Goes based on performance pal, perform well and you will be placed into higher match making.
created new account
played with 4 other ppls who had games bellow 50 games each first game was in normal bracket second one in high and then any other was in very high so idk how someone can be not in very high lol
Well I have to admit, sometimes the choice of assigning Normal, High, or Very High to game is baffling. I just played 4 solo only que games. The first 3 were Very High and I won all 3. Then for some odd reason the next one was assigned to Normal, although really I think the quality of players in the last one was higher than the 3 games assigned to Very High. Won the "normal" game too...what will the next solo que game be? Who knows?
I had a bunch of nice rationalizations for jumping around categories with the regular matching, but in solo only I don't see how it makes any sense.
In general if you win consistently the players in your games allies and enemies get better. But any particular game things can seem odd.
Really Relentless, they get better do they?

Rate Axe/KOTL thanks
play more on smurf account imbecile and then complain about players
those ppls playing dota for first time most likely or started few days ago
i used to smurf with friends too and we used to get players who pick drow+sniper and go offlane as combo u think they did well in their lanes ? ofc not cuz they got stomped bigtime with those 2 carries
l2p get some fucking wins scrub and then complain about ur team ur even bigger garbage than those new players
Repetition! Play the same 6 heroes over and over again. I believe most professional players focus on no more than 10-20 heroes.
10-20 ? lol noway
take for example Akke the 4 position player from Alliance
he has
87 chen games
62 kotl games
27 ench games
24 veno
22 lina
18 gyro
16 leshrac
14 jakiro
11 visage
thats 9 heroes in more than 6 months meta changed since then atleast 3 times so half of these heroes are no longer in use anymore and if they are they purely situational so if im position 4 support player like akke its better for me to stick playing chens enchantress and other micro intensive heroes instead of supports like cm who has 2 spells and even monkey with 1 hand can play it
@vaikiss, most of my matches are in the VH bracket and generally players know what they are doing, not everyone is that good, but this is the first match where people actually fed like fucking mad, and I can't even tell if its intentional. You can see my previous matches, the skill level isn't at the top level MM, I am well aware of that, but its definitely far above the level that those players were at, and if you decide to take swiftending's cock out of your ass for one second, you can see that those players were very far out of their depth.
Now, had this been my first match or something - I wouldn't say shit, because thats when you expect to get absolutely horrendous allies, and I would never make a legit complaint about that. But when I'm clearly playing at a decent level, and actually playing against "decent" players, why the hell are players like KOTL/Axe put into the game?
Akke is probably one of the most versatile with "9 core heroes". Many pros really only play 4 or 5. Of course they would be good with any hero...but nowhere near the level of the heroes they focus on using at the pro level.
you want to improve in dota or win more games and get to higher matchmaking? cause these are two different things, just somehow corelated
oh, it was posted 3 months ago, nvm : D

So much advice in the community comes from people that think they are better than they are.
That I struggle to find ACTUAL good advice, so I thought I would try here.
Now that I have reached a fair skill level what should I be doing to improve as a player now?
