Secret to success? in General Discussion

I play earthshaker a lot. Recently I've started sacrificing xp and roaming around completely, buying smoke if needed and ganging mid mostly. I find that if your mid gets a head start with ganks, you usually win. So I suggest that the secret to success is picking a support with disable or good slow and ganking mid heavily. Any thoughts?

Seeing as how that's one of the major things that professionals do when competing for money, my thought is that makes sense. A pair of stunners is even stronger. It's basically a requirement if you want to abuse their lineup at times (e.g. SF mid, Sniper mid, etc.). Those are weak heroes in terms of escape + hp, but they might as well not be weak in those regards if your supports never roam to mid.

a player who plays support thinks gank enemy mid before he is lvl6 or just simple gank mid is secret...i feel so sorry.

Thats a good start, at least you try to help your mid to gain an advantage. Do it in ranked mm anyway, nobody plays seriously in normal mm. There's other things you can do to help the mid lane too, like camping runes at 2min etc to prevent snowball heroes like storm to have an advantage with runes. Many many things you can do as a support, ganking mid is just a start tho. Knowing when and how to gank mid efficiently is where you become a good support

It is a plausible strategy... but just know you're centering the game around your mid then. By roam/gank mid, you fall behind in exp+gold and your ally who you were supposed to be laning with also falls behind in 1v2.

So you need to trust your mid first :/

enemy runs solo hard lane. your carry should handle 1v1 against an already underleveled/underfarmed hardlaner. its not dat true u fall behind exp...for example u stack in jungle for 3mins and u didnt earn a single xp point but u go gank mid and its succesful dat means u get xp and with an other tower u'll be the same xp with the enemy support who just sit on lane ruining it from carry. I like in pub games when after 5min they do 5v5 all random only mid and they wanna fight with brown boots only :D so cute

@Goldman I don't play support that much, so sorry if I'm just figuring this stuff out. Usually I will stay in my lane for the first couple minutes and make sure my lane partner is not having too much trouble.

This is all part of the reason that hard carries that really need babysitting (the likes of AM and Void) aren't so successful. If your putting a weaver in lane for example you can then free up a support who can roam and secure other lanes such as mid. If you play with a Void in lane you need to babysit him through his first 7-8 levels meaning that you can't offer those ganks to your mid to win that lane too. It's a knock on effect but you're absolutely right in that ganking mid 2-3 times in the early game can normally secure that lane and allow your mid player to really push on into the mid and late game.
