qwerdf for abilities
alt+qweasd for items
tilde for select courier, default courier cmds I think
123456 for control groups, tab to alternate through control units
caps lock for quick buy
alt for teamspeak chat, z for dota chat
spacebar *should* be last ping/event but I don't honestly use it much
I also put minimap on the right side
qwerdf for spell
tgcvb and space for item
1 for hero 2 any other unit beside hero 3 control all unit
F1 control couier F2 send item to you F3 speed burst
Z chat

alt + Q W E D F Z for item hotkeys imo, i find pressing alt + R uncomfortable
I would use 1 2 3 4 5 etc for your control groups

5 6 - inventory slots, I asigned 2 of my mouse buttions to 5 and 6, I never press the keyboard
T V - inventory slots
extra mouse button 1 and 2 - inventroy slots
Q W E R D F = abilities
Ctrl+qwerdf = learn abilities (I manage to learn attribute bonus with CTRL+U... big hands, lon-...)
A, S = attack, stop
Z = Loot stash items
X = select all beside main (excilent for meepo and lancer, and micro in general)
C = Chat wheel - Careful
CAPS LOCK = Shop (I don't use this because it fucks the chat up kinda)
G = chat wheel - well palyed
H = chat wheel - help!
B = chat wheel - get back!
N = Chat wheel - stun now (I rarely use this)
O = need wards
P = push now
J = fortify
TAB = shuffle thru units from selection
NUMPAD7 = missing top
NUMPAD5 = missing mid
NUMPAD3 = missing bot
NUMPAD0 = console
I think this is all, I also have a mouse button that does ALT+S = hold position, currently useless since it works like stop with turned off autoattack

Yes. I use q w e r for my primary skills, but alt+q, alt+w, alt+e for my top three item boxes, left to right. (it lets me use my items without moving my hands away from abilities)
Abilities: Q W E R D F
Items: 3 4 5 / Z X C
Quick buy: space
Control groups: 1 2
Hero: F1
Courier: F2
I dont know how you guys use 1-6 for items. Don't even wanna know how you guys play heros like chen, enchantress, or meepo. I find 2 control groups that I use for my hotkeys not enough for these heros.
I use 2 groups for meepo, and 'f keys'. it's sufficient.

What do you guys use?
I'm looking for suggestions, as i learned the game with 1 2 3 4 5 however i recently started to play tinker and realized how awful that is.
Like 1 2 3 is decent, however 4 and 5 really screw up quick execution.
I use 1 2 3 4 5 T for items, V to learn abilities, and micro with space to select all other units and ctrl to select all units. QWERF for abilities.
Edit: I wish i could use WASD for camera control.
