Very ez for you to say mr us server. Lets dismiss. DeL's unpopular ppinion so as to seem like the good guy.
@Liceguy
Another us server queuer trying to talk about things he never experienced. I never found myself to be racist in my life though.
The only people who disagree with OP are Russians, Pinoys, and plebs. All the same thing.
Also, I love how they ALL have less than 50% winrate except melody, who is actually my subordinate in this forum
Shut up, you suck. That sums up this thread.
I love russians because they make my games more entertaining, those "non-russian" never talk in mic and are never trying to have fun. They just want to sit there as the autist they are not talking and focusing 100% on their game, every single game. (This isn't directed to everybody, OBVIOUSLY OBVIOUSLY OBVIOUSLY).
If these "not-russian" guys talk, it's usually sentences like this that comes:
-WHAT THE FCUK ARE U DOIN' RUSSIAN KID
-GOD DAMN YOU SUCK FCAGKOT
-OMEFGAFGAD YOU ARE AN HORRIBLE PLAYR DUD SRSERLOLSY
Russians:
-DAVAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAI CYKAAAAA
-LET US FAKEN DAVAI THES KILLS C MO N MANA SOOOOSI DAVAAAAAAAAAAI
I'd rather stomp with russians and have fun, than stomp with blabla with just tryhard communication. (In pubs obviously, if I was to play a league or anything among those lines, I'd rather have some tryhard shit obviously.)
EDIT: ofc there are stupid russians, everybody are stupid at times. Since the playerpool of russians is huge, and their english skills are very bad (It's not as easy as you might think for a russian to learn english considering they have another alphabet/letters) they often get more hate than they deserve.
So fcuk of hating on russians cause u got a shito in ur game who fckd up. You're not any better if u cant carry vs. the same retrded russians u get on the other side
Stop with the hate.) The major reason why there are so many Russian speaking people on EU/US is because the Russian server is actually located in Stockholm, which does not benefit the ping times for Moscow or St. Petersburg (biggest cities in Russia) and actually makes pings a lot higher for the rest of the Russian Speaking world, which includes rest of Russia, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Belarus (pretty much all of the former USSR) etc. etc. etc. I, myself live in Kazakhstan and when it comes to choosing between EU west and Russian server I am not choosing the language preferences or my teammates, I am choosing between 120-130 ms ping and 160-170. 40 ms is A LOT in a competitive game like Dota.
When it comes to actual skill - I don't think there is any difference between 4k EU player and 4k Russian player. They are both in the 4k region, that's what MMR is for. You can argue that the Russian speaking community in most cases is unwilling to cooperate, but I strongly believe that it is in part the fault of the EU/US community being hugely negative about them before the game even begins. In a casual match there is not a lot of things to discuss (unless you flame, which you shouldn't do in the first place). The chat wheel is mostly enough to give out basic commands and coordinate team on a decent level.
I agree that there are a LOT of really bad mannered Russian speakers, but there are equally as many English speaking players who could be a lot friendlier.
Personally, I feel the best solution would be an introduction of a new server located somewhere in the middle of Russia, but with the really "bribe-y" and inconsistent legal system of Russia as well as a decent amount of hatred towards it generated by the Ukrainian events I don't see it happening any time soon.
@dd
What are you talking about? Russians are those that take the game most seriously and are the most tryhards of all, even though they fail miserably at teamplay.
@KawaiiSocks
Firstly, about the point you tried to make with other players being negative about them before the game starts; That is only true if the person is flat out trying to show he is russian (name with cyrillic letters, speaking at russian disregarding his team). Most of the time people are being negative to russians after they displayed the bad attitude.
Moreover, you say that english speaking players could be friendlier. Sure, many people could be friendlier in video games. However, having played Dota 2 since the start of the beta which is 3 years and 4000 games, my experience indicates that if someone is being a douchebag there is 86% chance that he is Russian. If you think that I am talking from the top of my head and I am imagining things then feel free to say so.
Lastly, about the the point you've made regarding communication. To be honest, that used to be a problem in the past. Now it's barely noticable. The behavior and attitude of russian players is what really irritates me.
Pretty much what socks said.
I play with Russians/Peru whatever. Who cares where a person is from, that doesn't change how they play.
Also, wink, lol... I am not your subordinate. If anything you're mine lol.
These be my forums rand.
"Who cares where a person is from, that doesn't change how they play. "
That is so stupid it's mind-numbing. Like saying that someone's cultural background doesn't affect their attitude.
I got to agree with Del about the cultural background affecting how the players play and act. Since I don't play in eu server I don't know what happens but I got to say that assholes exist everywhere. You're just focusing russians because they stand out, that's all.
When it comes to certain parts of the interenet, I don't live in Russia or Brazil therefor I shouldn't have to deal with people that our raised differently and act different that is completely inappropriate for the time and place when playing video games. Them not knowing how to manage the interface or read up on mechanics shows in the game with their inability to comprehend or apply any theory crafting. Brazil and Peru has some high ass crime rate and those mother fuckers kill because of stupid shit like world cup. I think it shows in game too cause they are hotheaded and spiteful. If you say or do one thing they will do everything in their power to jeopardize your game. I shouldn't have to deal with that. I could give two shits about the ping really.
i feel the same as DDsama
its more fun if a game goes "full retard" than "we have to win or we'll get nuked by obama and putin"
While I may agree some people on both sides need to relate to each other differently and more friendly, need to learn what a cooperational game is and respect each other, I also believe that generalizing and saying "russians" "peruvian" "insert random country here" wont make you less ignorant.
Also, what's up with that 86% of yours? how is that in fact calculated? lol
I'd suggest you to deal with it until Valve finds a different solution (or doesn't find one).
There are things you can change, such as your generalizing, and then there are things you cannot change.
There is a reason why every game I ever played hates South Americans and Russians, because they are cancer.
Play Tera Rising, LoL, SMITE, WoW, GW2, or any big MMO/MOBA, you'll see just as much SA and RU hate and it isn't a coincidence.
Regarding the language barrier, if you play MMORPG's and queue for a dungeon, you'll get BRs and RUs, except you don't need to communicate in dungeons you queue for in most of those games, but you still autolost when they are in your party. The fact is that there is something that causes a large sum, if not the majority, of the players in these nations to play SIGNIFICANTLY worse than others.

everyone hates pinoys in sea
from personal experience though they aren't any less skilled given the same mmr, and there are plenty of enjoyable ones to play with.
if anything i would rather play with a pinoy/russian/peruvian than some kid who rages about people whole day
@Yoshi
You ask how I can measure this right? Well, take 100 players that display antisocial behavior (unprovoked/undue flame, unwillingness to teamplay without any obvious reason, griefing etc) in my games. 86 of them are from russia. Simple as that, don't like the percentage? I could indeed keep track on an excel document and measure it precisely. But it wouldn't matter, since it would just prove what's obvious to people that agree for me and people that don't agree will dismiss the result because the opinion is unpopular. So I am talking purely based on long term experience.
Also, you talk of generalization. If you really know what you are talking about, you would know that generalization is an important concept of logic and statistics and also, that the bigger the sample, the more accurate the generalization is. If I was talking based on 10 games, then you would be right to criticize my generalization. But when I am talking based on 4000 games of my own -mostly solo- the chances that my generalization is accurate are signifficant.
except there is a very strong tendency for bias in such generalizations, and a proper statistical study eliminates this bias.
if i expect every pinoy speaker i hear to be a trash player i would obviously be validating only the experiences which corresponded with my beliefs
Well, no, the checking is made after the antisocial behavior was displayed. Therefore, unless the player is blatantly trying to show they are russian, I can't see how there is bias.
Wave has to sell accounts because his education is less than adequate. We had this discussion already. His opinions should more or less just be ignored. Known abuser/troll (Bad one at that) who takes pleasure in insulting people with mental disabilities. I don't think I could fnd a violin to play a story that's more sad.
Check this Russian game on Europe West server. Epic comeback when only one barracks left on Radiant base, while Dire buildings were at full hp.
