Well. DotA is extremely complex you can think on it as an virtual irl world when you fight for your life.
After 1000 games with an average brain you'll figure out how the most simple spells works, then after several thounsands u will figure out how to play 1 hero very well..

I tried dota over a year ago but It was just too overwhelming. I'm super tired of LoL now so I'm giving a try. I'm off this week so I got plenty of time.
You can learn dota the same way you learn LoL.
The pub scene tends to very trendy on hero choices so you'll get accustomed pretty fast to them. Try to practise a single role first and if best, practise a single hero.
Be sure to read welcone to dota you suck by purge. Oh and also prepare to lose and to learn russian
If you are new go to dotaroot and play with other newbies or 1.4-2k players there. Read some youtube guides posted. Great place, stress free
