Venomancer Wards in General Discussion

    Is there a reason why Venomancer shouldn't max his Plague Wards until you've max the rest? Most of the build i followed are like that. I find the plague wards quite useful in harassing and pushing , not to mention annoying too.

      venomancer's skill build is always subject to the game your playing, the role you are filling on your team, your team's line up, and the strategy you are implemented.

      So the answer is yes.

      1/1/1 is almost always a good idea with veno. From there, max your decisions based on the game.

        imo if playing support => max wards and sting
        playing semi => 2-4-2

          Thanks , he's actually quite fun to play considering his attack speed. So i guess i should just put my skill point depending on my role.

            suprised you dont have a 2/2/1 build in there for agro maniac variant badger.

            even if you max wards last, one point is great for vision.

              The wards are borderline useless at level 1 where they die in one autoattack, and only serve to feed early gold and xp to your enemies. They become much more useful lategame/midgame. You need two points into the skill at the very least before you can even really start using it, though just being able to place a ward in front of a fleeing slowed opponent can make chases very easy.
              Gale and Poison Sting scale incredibly well and maxing these first give you a lot of solo kill potential against a lot of heroes. Taking wards later is a small sacrifice to make in most cases, but if you need to defend towers early they will be valuable.

                Maxing wards very early is how I mostly play him now. Not many heroes can deal with their crazy push in lane that early into the game and you are really hard to gank. Also, don't feed those wards, deny them as you would deny any other creep. Your opponents deserve 0 farm.

                  if you run push setup you should go 1-1-4, if you want to have heavy harass you go 1-4-1, if you want gank/roam go 4-1-1

                    riiiiight. 1 point means you can throw them to block jukes and have vision of the jungle from sidelane. it is worth it.

                    also, 1-1-4 is great when your team knows what its doing. If you aren't above 4k, go 4-4-1.

                      Because the wards are free money to the opposing team. Just had a game where a Veno put wards out at lvl 1, and I was making mad cream.

                          I guess level 1 wards can be used as "observer wards' . Lasts for 40 seconds and its quite worth it with low mana cost , especially when you're playing support

                            tell your mid sf that youre gonna give him free souls at the very start go to rosh pit, place ward and let rosh hit your ward and make SF deny it :3 free soul before first wave

                              Just please, if you are in lane support, please pick sting first. So tired of wasted gales that do zero dmg. Yes I know it slows but when you have no dmg to back it up what's the point?

                                  exactly. No one is saying to spam level 1 wards in the lane. You put them outside the lane so you dont get fucked.

                                    The sting slow is usually plenty and can keep being applied. Sting at lvl 2 does 90 dmg. 90! That's some major harass potential!

                                      Mostly I go Q>W>E>E>E>R>E>W>W>W etc.

                                      It allows you to take early towers create issues for those pushing. Varied success with it.
