getting countered is not a bad thing when you are learning. It is easy to play while ahead and much more difficult to play from behind. Guess which one makes u improve faster.
You are correct - however I get frustrated extremely easily in pubs. If I'm playing 1v1 vs someone I at least know somewhat (i.e. go to a chat room, say "hi" and chat for a few minutes before practicing 1v1) I won't feel flustered or upset if I get crushed.
Basically playing on a tilt vs no tilting.

What MMR? I cant tell if I'm your skill level without that... I'm pretty low down there but I'd gladly run mid against ya
i always get irritated playing vs morph tinker and naga 1v1 mid
why? cause they are fucking gay!!!!!! its like having a constant treant healing mid making shit impossible...
and the morpgh/naga/tinker doesnt even have to be good to be annoying!!!!!! thats how gay they are
and im talking about the heroes i enjoy vs them...sf/potm/sk/drow/pudge/zeus/etc :p
^ od. haha..suck his int away so he can't spam (i really don't play mid that much lol)..it really depends on the mid player.
Hmm...gyro, tinker, or kunka? Not sure.
^ and when you use astral on him, you get 70+ dmg, sure suck his int, and die while doing it.
I'd rather play with razor vs viper, than od.
The dotacinema arena has a 1v1 option, can always try that.
and much like dotabuff you can track your 1v1 games and see how well youre doing/not doing.

Is there any place you can find someone of similar skill to play 1v1?
As of now I know of 3 mid heroes who can easily 1v5 the opposing team late game - Morphling, Tinker, and Naga Siren. Of course you have to have excellent mechanics (something I lack) to get the ball rolling in the first place. It's probably easier to start off by playing classic mids such as TA, Storm, QoP, SF, etc. and learning to outlane the opponent.
I've asked some friends if they want to 1v1 and most of them declined.
I'm not going to practice mid in pubs because that requires me to instapick a mid hero and I'm going to get countered. If I wait to pick last obviously mid will be taken by then.
Any community/group suggestions?
