Frustration with MMR goals, increasing influx of player who just don't give a damn and play to throw, meta changes where people cannot change etc.
people are more prone to making complaint posts about losing mmr...
reality is some people are losing some are gaining, you just hear about one of them more
all the reasons u guys gave apply to to both ur own team and oppo team so why would that affect the win rate?
if your hypothesis about only dotabuff players losing mmr is true, then there must be factors that only affect dotabuff players in work

me personally, im just finding it hard to give a damn about mmr atm.
at first it was like just get 6k, then just crack leaderboard, then just get in top 100 etc etc.
at some point it becomes irrelevant because milestones are not that actually rewarding, if at all.
I'm actually enjoying some other games more than dota atm.
well i can actually say the same...i'm not even interested in the game, the music is louder and i always have pdf's of stuff i need to read/understand opened.

i pretty almost gave up and accepted my fate as 3.6k trash and started picking shitty heroes like pudge for ranked
surprisingly, it was not that much different from tryharding, and now instead of me trying to adapt to my teammates, they had to adapt to me, that felt good

pubs are pubs no matter how high ur mmr is u will still be trash pubber better invest that time making team and practicing so u might actually achieve something more than few pixels on ur profile

I think it's because I smash 5400's, they drop to 5k flat and get matched with dotabuffers, and since they are actually 5400 and not 5000 they obviously have an advantage as their mmr is deflated.

considering mmr is measure of the skill
also what about all those 6k+ players that i stomp on my 4.8k smurf how can they get raped by 1.2k lower person ?

It's all about consistency. If you can stay at a certain rating without dropping.

I've lost 700 ELO in a matter of couple days. Overall toxic players or guys who don't know how to use their mouse.
most girls should be at around 3k for about 20%-30% each game while we get 1 in like 1000 if we're lucky :p
if this was 1v1 game then i would be reswponsible for any losses
but since its team game its team majority of time which makes sense alot
I lose mmr when I go on tilt. I'm actually 8k mmr player somehow stuck with this 3k thrash players.
But you guys belive me, so no problem.
I just had good match with Dendi and Wagamama, we had a lot of fun.
Ofc, I was Shadow Thrash and just won mid against Dendi.

I see a couple of people losing lots of MMR lately, not sure whats happening? Are the general population starting to catch up? or complacency? Any other possible reasons why?
