not maxing flak early will severely hinder your farming rate
its not viable to cast rocket barrage 3-4 times to kill a creep wave, you can't sustain that kind of mana cost without intensive bottle crowing and the return is comparable to just using flak
usually you want to go q e q e then either q r q or e r e depending on how the laning phase has turned out
missile is good if you're offlane or mid, but i dont think its worth getting more than a value point in early as a safelane carry
rocket barrage was, is and will still be trash. that skill has for sole purpose to zone out of you mele heroes, if you can use it offensively there's something wrong about positionning, of either you or your opponent.
The only thing we can add, is that now it has no cast time, if you are paired with a kotl, you can launch a double rocket barrage for insane amount of damage, that can catch off guard many players
you have a squishy heroes, so squishy that basically it cann't do ANYTHING without bkb.
If you want to lose time of your bkb going after people you'll never catch up cause you are slow as fuck, and be out of position at the end of your bkb, then choose rocket barrage and max it.
If you want to hit the fuck of everyone in the teamfight, while staying resonnably safe (considering your squishyness) then don't take that skill at all.
People who will go near gyro will be either under bkb, or tanky enough for that rocket barrage, or plenty of them, so they don't feel it, or last but not least, be killing gyro so switfly that barrage rocket will not land damage.
The only thing that provide the patch with that no cast time, is the possibility to play with one level of barrage rocket for the fear factor, and the possibility to cast the spell, even in the void without anydrawback (since you have enough mana to cast it)
That's one way of playing I guess. I usually contribute more to my team early as gyro isn't going to compete with a lot of carries late game without a large item advantage.

It obviously depends on how much damage you have. What kind of question is that? Q is for zoning/farming jungle. E is for wave clear and team fights.
isn't homing missile good for zoning too though? if you're 1v1 the enemy can't destroy it in time. if they back off to tower they miss XP, if they don't run away then you go in with rocket barrage
I max Rocket and Missile, you fight anyway early you dont really farm or clear waves, plus E doesnt do that much damage because you are not going to get 6 autoattacks to hit everyone in an early teamfight.

Ok you have a point so let me ask like this.
If I have both Q and E, which one should I max first and which one should I use in order to maximise farm DPS. I assume I dont have mana for using both all the time.
Afaik 3rd spell is commonly used for farm, while Q is a spell aimed to kill heroes, not creeps (in the beginning of the game ofc, at 30th minute you use everything including ur ult to farm, and E to kill).
^One point in missile can be nice for stopping channeling/tps at least for those times you need an interrupt.
Kitrak, this probably doesnt work in higher mmr but in 4k i go mid, i max missile and at lvl 6 or 7 if the enemy mid doesnt back to his t2 i can kill people with only missile and ult.
I dont really think you lose mid to anyone with this hero, i guess TA ( though she cant really kill you either )
^Huskar and OD shouldn't have that much problem against missile build either, but those heroes have been pretty out of meta for a while anyways.
Edit: Slark as well, since dark pact stops the stun so you can just run into a minimum damage rocket
^most pros skip missles all together. They go like 4-0-4-3 then stats. I think its the correct way to play core\carry gyro. But i like to roam with him with max missle because it hurts like hell but if you are not sucessful you will fall off without flak so i dont suggest that roaming build.
Also im pretty sure lina destroys gyro mid, same for sniper. Sf seems good for outlasthitting him and pushing lanes though.
I think as mid you should go more of a carry/battle build with flak and barrage. Missle wont do much especially vs ranged mids when they can run to tower safely so you cant dive.
Solaire its not that easy, with lvl 3 missiles they cant get close to the lane, everytime they get close to the creeps you use missile and they have to go back to their t2 or they eat a full barrage plus ult, if they jsut go back to their t1 you can safely dive and if they decide to stay close to the creep wave you can still use barrage.
By the way, sniper dies to a lvl 3 missile plus ult, i mean just that i dont even think you need to attack him once lol
yes rocket has stun, means you try to kill people with your ulti which has slow to complement stun, all other skill=farm/aoe/burst

If the player is smart they will just sit right next to their creeps when you missile them and both your rocket barrage and missile combined does like 200 damage.

well maybe people are just dumb but ive gotten loads of free kills by 100-0 ing ppl with max missle build
also max rocket is fantastic for diving towers
one game was 3v1 offlane vs a clinkz, another was a 2v2 offlane
i think rocket is really good in any lane where you outnumber/are stronger than the enemy though. you get to dive towers with the missle acting as a meat shield if the creeps are about to push in, and the guy has to miss out the wave of creeps pushing in if he doesnt want to get hit by it
i think as a safelaner in a 2v1/3v1 you should have definitely be able to zone out the offlaner enough to get full duration clarities (170 each), then later basi; if pool is a problem probably 1 mango? on radiant safe lane gyros has the skillset to shove out waves and contest runes safely so bottle is a great option
regardless i dont feel like stats> rocket though, you cant expect people to commit 5 attacks every 11 seconds, esp if there are melee heroes
