you need to play in games with higher average mmr in order to improve your division. however, no one can achieve professional unless he/she went to LANs.

Good evening, I had taken a break of playing Dota 2 but now I have returned and last night i've purchased dotabuff plus. My question is about skill divisions. We have a hero score and we are ranked according to that but our skill division is the same for all heroes? Do we rank up divisions by winning more? Or do we need to attend some tournaments or leagues to get into the Professional division?
