Play carry heroes and try to farm as much as you can, once you outfarm them you probably just win

Thanks, I thought about this myself and thought that if I did that, once I got higher up in mmr I wouldn't be well rounded and would get shut down.

Hello, I'm around 360 hours into this game and still consider myself a noob . I am in the 600 mmr range (utter garbage) and looking for friendly advice on how to improve my game
So far I've been told, pick a small pool of heroes that I'm comfortable with and use those every match
I've also been told to pick last and choose a hero that our team is in need of, or a good counter.
I've tried both of these, and generally stay in the same MMR range. So I suppose I'm asking for advice on what to do. should I pick heroes I know and certain I accelerate at early or wait to pick a hero our team needs?
If anyone's up for it I could really use a teacher or some sort of mentor as I really would like to better myself in this game and climb in rank.
