Sometimes there is nothing wrong with the hero, just personal preferences of the players. There are just other supports that are just stronger in this meta now such as SD ,which can set up combos with other meta heroes such as kunka and mirana.
But maybe valve could change his enfeeble skill into some better idk, still a good hero though

pudge dismember and bat lasso both get canceled by slark, but no one complains about that
mirana + bane combo should be still viable but shadow demon is better for most scenarios i guess.
even in normal potato bracket.
