Practically every Sniper player I’ve seen will never cancel their ulti even if the enemy goes invulnerable or is indubitably dead.

Why do you think PA is consistently one of the most picked hero? And why is naga, chen, visage, io, etc are the least popular?

the same reason i see late game snipers use their ult or initiate fights with it.

Using it to initiate lategame is okay tbh
For vision so teammates can lock a hero down while after you ult you do your sniper things
