Butterfly is superior against physical damage

but ac gives more armor, and gives plenty of dps as well as makes sieging easier.

anyway i would get both items, 2 butterflies not so good

and butterfly is pure dps, while ac is defensive/siege and to kill low base armor heores.

Butter is better 95% of the time and you aren't realistically going to have slots for both.

bfly is better in almost all the cases (except of some specific when enemy sf or whoever has fast mkb or u have pa in team)

Minus armor isn't that great on Slark, and you kind of have okay armor from essence shift. You're getting nearly a point of armor every 2 hits on an enemy hero.

ac doesn't provide agility so I don't know what you are talking about and ac allows slark to steal agi faster. On top of that it gives armour to you and your allies as well as reducing enemies armor making it a decent item slark.

Ac doesn't allow slark to steal agility faster than having butterfly. Butterfly is more attack speed.

If enemy doesn't have true strike then butterfly is a shit ton more ehp, I put slark level 25 into a calc with skadi, abyssal, treads, echo, silver edge and compared ac to butter. Ac is like 9k ehp, butter is over 11k. Also dps wise butter kicks ac's ass against a single target for slark only. I compared it vs a well equipped jugger who has around 32 armor. So vs str heroes might not be as dramatic.

But basically you are gimping yourself on slark by taking ac over butterfly. The only reason would be to hit buildings as a team. Even vs heroes as a team your team isn't all right click dmg so I'd still go butterfly.

AC is only good on a couple agility heroes like PA cus stacks with deso and dodge on butter is redundant, TA cus deso and her minus armor abilities, viper cus of how nethertoxin is physical and even then it's a little shady, and possibly razor cus of link and his ult reduces armor. I've seen some juggers get it but it's usually in conjunction with deso.

I guess in retrospect, if you don't need a defensive item like bkb or linkens, or you don't need abyssal, AC would be a good 6th item or a pickup when you sell echo. You could get treads, silver edge, skadi, butterfly, abyssal, AC, or sub that abyssal for linkens or something. But most people are getting bloodthorn then I think.

AC is much needed at alot of place,especially SEA,weather is hot here
