because he doesn't scale as well with items as other heroes.
a visage's impact with 6k networth won't be all that different from a 10k networth.
because 2/3 of his damage sources are mostly the same, no matter if core or support.
as visage supp your item build doesnt change much. as far as i know you go tranquil, solar crest, rod of atos, aghs.
you are not dependent on escape items since you are naturally tanky and you can use bird stuns to escape.
visage support has a very good damage output early game, and farms well with birds so scaling is ok.

my dream trilane has always been visage+AA and maybe a drow. 100% the offlaner would abandon the game
i played visage support, just switch to mid recently for the mmrs. But still I prefer playing him as supp.
He scales with levels more than items, but he has a serious lack of mobility and disable, so he's like a nuking support who hamstrings your team if you don't have proper makeup. It's like playing zeus support in a way, lots of nukes, no disables. If you have a bunch of cores who stun I don't see an issue with it.

He has aoe stun. Support Visage is viable when enemy lack escapes, but then why not venomancer ?
he needs levels, but you can't afford to waste a mid hero on visage since he doesn't scale all that well, most of his dmg comes from familiars which is not item dependent. if he had the durablity he would be best played pos 3 offlane but he's a glasscannon
I'd say he's an offlaner by design and scaling pattern (preparing for a shitstorm).
I mean... You need levels, tranquils+MoC and that's it for a start.
Lvl 6 with just tranqs you can solo kill most heroes.
Visage has always needed to get his six early - hence putting him mid. nothing more disheartening than hitting 6 when the enemy cores are already level 10.
Pretty sure he is rubbish as an offlaner because he can't retreat to the jungle when he gets zoned...
He Support the team by being fucking annoyng.
For me the best usage for Visage is a roammer that burst other supports in tf to make a instant 5v4 tf.
lacks disables pre 6. His slow is pretty good but doesn't last that long. I'm a visage supporter, but you aren't killing people with just visage and no complimentary follow up stun.
visage is very level dependent but not super item dependent
he can do this incredible things with just solar
Visage was always played as a support - back in the trilane days when aui didn't play carry...
He cant deal with anything before 6, coz most likely u build 1-3-1 or 2-3-0 so u hav no sht to do early on alone

In what way, exactly, is visage a support? Every time I see visage having a good game (while supporting, naturally), it's absolutely, undoubtedly, a 4th core, and he'll often have really good hero damage too. I didn't see visage too much in my games, but I've watched streams by people who can actually play the hero and while I have seen Visage mid, other times he's a fucking safelane support who ends up doing the most tower and hero damage by the time game's ended.
What the hell is up with this hero? He doesn't have support skills, he wants an aghs asap (greedy af), true he builds a medallion like a proper support would, BUT TO AMPLIFY HIS OWN DAMAGE more than anything, not just to, you know, help his carries get kills.
While both is true of heroes like shaman and witch doctor (both want an aghs and medallion/crest), I still don't feel like they are on the same level as visage.
