There have been divine 3’s in divine 5 games. And not just normal divine 5 players, top of the leaderboard. Matchmaking sucks atm.
I had a archon 3 in my game while everybody else was legend 2 or above
Those divine players had high solo mmr but low party mmr I am also matched with archon 5 because they have high party mmr but low solo mmr (I'm just a crusader shitstain).
The medal displayed corresponds to the mmr which is higher solo/party (except for acient and divine).
Not entirely related question: Do rankings only start for Divine 5+ players or all Divine players? If so, how do you know the difference between Divine 5 and Divine 5+?

Only Divine 5 players get rankings
@positive Player, I have a higher solo MMR, but I calibrated my Party medal first. My account still displays my Crusader 5 (2.0k party calibration). I don't think it displays highest, I think it displays the first calibrated.
yea the whole medal system is just confusing because u can no longer tell who's the highest or what the avg is.
1) u only see the highest medal.
2) if u drop mmr u retain highest medal
3) no distinguishing of party or solo mmr.
I've played with people in divine, and even as low as archon, sometimes even in the same match. I assume it has something to do with party MMR factoring in to your medal.
@cuki it was a divine 5 game all around except for one legend 4 in the game who was using sentries and dust against a broodmother. lmao.

@Big Dogg I have around 15 accounts (not mine) that verify the medal displayed corresponds to the higher mmr and not first calibrated.
It takes whatever medal that is first calibrated (party calibration restricted to Legend 5), and takes on the highest medal from either solo or party. So in theory, seeing Legends in Divine tier games simply means they have yet to calibrate their solo, and if you are seeing Ancients/Divines in your regular Legend solo queues.... I guess that fella had a really really huge losing streak.

i calibrated party first myself and when finally got around to solo was the only legend 4 in a game with 9 divine 5s, and my teammates has no issues giving me core role because they actually read the explanation unlike all the retards who keep complaining

How do you determine true mmr of the individual's? And then people are getting matched with legend 5s all around but the game is high skill average possibly because the legend 5s are all 4k party but Low 3k shits.
Now this all wouldn't be a problem if people weren't using their medals to claim superiority and core roles. The same could be said in your case where your teammates would refuse to give you core because you are legend in a divine game. But you in fact may have been the highest.
How is it confusing when everything is explained in the blogpost?

Its pretty clear, players only have one medal.
Also im pretty sure 90+% of players i meet have higher solo than party
