I created this account a few days ago, and played some matches. Tried to play as supp well, bought wards, dust, stacked camps, etc... but my teammates (and rivals) become weaker and weaker after each game. I think I'm playing with herald guys now...

so am I missing something?

I think there is something that keeps the new people playing among themselves for the first games. So you are playing with people who are new to the game. They don't know anything about Dota at all... So unless they are smurfing like you, they will suck. Purge had that one video a long time ago titled "Welcome to Dota, you suck!". Which wraps up your issue nicely.
