No, VHS is still 3.7, they just changed the way the system searches for games now, they increased the MMR search range meaning that if you're 4.2, you be placed in a game as low as 3.6 now. The medals are just hats for MMR, but the system also now takes into account that if you're divine 0, but fall to 4.3 after a nasty loss streak (just an example) it will have a more complicated search algorithim, and possibly give you like high 3k teammates to balance it out, thus lowering the average. I don't know that's just me theory, but ever since the medal update, they definitely expanded the MMR search range.
That is wrong. The matchmaking system is all the same. You get matched with the same mmr players. What is different are medals.
When you calibrate you get the medal corresponding to your calibrated mmr, and that fits the Wiki chart perfectly. Confusion comes after when you get promoted in medal rank and stay the same mmr. I got that on 2 accs.
So everything about matchmaking is the same, players have very close mmr scores but different medals. Then when you see Legend3 and Ancient0 in the same game, or Archons, Crusaders and Legends you are playing with same mmr people but someone got better promotion down the line after calibration.
Matchmaking is the same as before.
Also i have no fuc*king idea how promotions or calibration work. I have seen 5k smurfs destroy my calibration games, and get crusader rank lmao. Also total noobs get promoted after calibration to Legends and they suck big time.

high skill = 3.3xx - 4.2xx now i think
for me when i reached legend (0 Stars) it took me another +50 mmr to have consistant "high skill" solo ranked games
once you reach ancient it should be VHS

I think it is perfectly fine to be called a noob. I just laugh quietly to myself because they are no better (archons).
