You almost never want to have vsync on unless there is no way to cap the framerate or if you're experiencing a lot of screen tearing.
I have i7 8700k
ram 16 gb
1060 gtx
256 ssd
Can play at max settings and always over 60 fps.
Vsync is what limited your fps to be no more than 60, because of that some frames have to wait when the monitor is ready and this is a problem you can have your inputs like key presses or mouse clicks slightly delayed (This won't happen if you have stable fps). This can be disadvantage if you're playing game like dota.
Usually 99% of the time you would want to turning it off, even tho it eats a little bit of my ram.
Even if your monitor is only 60hz and you can't see the difference if you have 120 fps it's still good to turning it off because you will get a great input speed.
180+ if lowest. But i dont really turn on shadows since it can be annoying to focus with so many things in the screen. I can get 80+ at highest tho. But it drops to 40+ when there's a PL or Tinker
I play on 2nd “fastest” graphics settings on the preset scale
1920x1080 60Hz monitor
Ryzen 7 2700X
GTX1080
32 GB RAM 2666MHz
Don’t ever VSync
Even w a monitor that supports it I would NVidia GSync, or AMD FreeSync, and they are much better developed than simple VSync
Playing on AMD Athlon(tm) II X2 250 processor 3.01 GHz , 4gb ram , Ge Force 9600 GT 2gb. Playing on lowest possible settings , 20-25 fps in team fights ,and some of you are worried if ur fps drops below 100 in game? XD this is the real struggle.
i used to play on 30 fps in 2017
get a decent pc bro,it's like 300-500 eu depending on your country, that shit sucks playing on trash pc
yea man,but im unemployed, here in Serbia most people live like shit , dont have that much money for pc . This shit is 10yr old ,in late game when there is TB or PL in game it is disaster, fps between 15-25 . Tried max video settings on friend's pc , god dota 2 looks so beautiful with maxed video settings , like totally new game.
i have a beast computer but have everything low.
turn off all the unnecessary bullshit so u can see the game instead of fancy cosmetics
Actually i can never used to low graphic anymore because i used to the high texture quality so much that i can miss like 5 cs just by looking "wth that texture feels off" xD
He isn't talking about textures, he's talking about butterflies, sprites etc that clutter the screen with unnecessary crap.
Playing with them on makes it harder to see fights etc.
Keep extra shit like "HD water" or "wind/trees" off.
Graphic options are for viewers. Not players or even casters.
in regard to how much they eat FPS and GPU processor, disable the following
anime portrait off, v sync off, ambient cloth simulation off, and shadow quality either on mid or off.
the rest, dabble on. But disabling those four or lowering them gives you easily +90 over your base settings.
then again Source 2 dota really relies on a good processor, not a good GPU to do the blunt job, so no need for overclocking really
