Immortal is not for someone who don't know its reason. Your rank will drop soon don't worry about it anymore 
The number comes up when you get to high enough to be a numbered Immortal. I don't know how long the numbered list is, but there is a good chunk of Immortal players that don't have rank numbers on them. You need to gain more MMR to get the number showing.
The numbered list is 5000 people, the jump is not that big from no numbers to having numbers, the difference in skill is biggest past top 1000.
