Hahahaha dota won't die for a long time, there is 2 major things that bring fuckton of players back every year.
1) Seasonal MMR "soft reset" fuckton of 2ks return with "im gonna be immortal for sure now guise!!!" attitude.
2) Return of TI compendium, every time Valve does spring cleaning and release compendiums tons of players return back.
Between these events its just dead sea, sometimes people come back for a major patch that lasts for a week or 2 until they realize they still suck.
My personal wish and change that would make me play on my main is to return max calibration to 3.5k MMR, the influx of fresh 5k accounts is unbearable, either smurf or account buyer in every other game, dota in divine/low immortal bracket is unplayable because of this.
Hmmm... Max Callibration don't need to be changed as it will just ruin games of lower ranks. I suggest that they should separate ranked matchmaking between new accounts and old accounts.
What I mean is requiring 1000 ranked games or 500 ranked games in new accs in order to join the old accs ranked matchmaking, but that would probably be a disaster right now since it has really low player count.
It's probably better if they make these changes in ti10 since it will peak the player base at that moment.
Calibrating should be done with AI/ bot players, so it won't bother regular players, annoying them, makes them rage quit.
While booster are easily detected by the long run trend changing just recently and drastically, new account are big question mark for the system.
Dota 2 dead game? Have you watched recent tournaments and did u noticed how many people are watching? 10 years ago dendi was the most watched streamer and i think he barely hit some 10-15k viewers which at the time was a lot (correct me if im wrong). Dreamleague was watched 50-60k+ the dota scene is rising. Yes its true that a lot of people are not playing much so what?
